As a Commercial Underwriting Manager II within PNC's Central Credit Products Group organization, you will be based in Houston, TX. Requirements

  • Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for a role.
  • Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree.
  • Industry experience is typically 8+ years.
  • At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required.
  • In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of underwriters and/or underwriting analysts.
  • May oversee underwriting managers.
  • Assists in implementing credit underwriting strategy for the team.
  • Provides mentoring, training, advising and assistance to their team during the underwriting process.
  • Manages and serves as a point of escalation to staff in performing underwriting responsibilities.
  • Oversees work product quality of team, including satisfying portfolio metrics as applicable.
  • Builds ongoing relationships with internal/external customers and other parties.
  • Participates in conversations with senior business partners and key stakeholders.
  • Participates in responses to audit or risk assessment issues and ensures team's compliance with all external regulatory requirements and internal policies/procedures.
  • Fosters an environment of continuous improvement and provides recommendations for process improvement.
  • Coaches and develops underwriters and/or underwriting managers.
  • Leads team's performance, training, hiring and development.
  • Collaborates with senior management to identify talent growth opportunities.
