Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a team of technicians.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment specific to the automotive industry.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members, customers, and management.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards within the automotive repair industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise shop operations and manage a team of technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Conduct quality control inspections on completed work to uphold service standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to streamline processes and improve service delivery.
  • Assist in estimating project costs and managing contracts as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the shop personnel, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure all repair and maintenance work is completed efficiently and meets company standards and customer expectations.
  • Monitor shop equipment and tools, ensuring they are properly maintained and available for use.
  • Implement and uphold safety protocols to guarantee a secure working environment for all employees.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their service needs and provide timely updates on repair progress.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies for improving shop operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate records of work orders, inventory, and employee hours.
  • Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise within the shop to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in diagnosing complex mechanical problems and provide guidance to technicians as needed.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and advancements to continuously improve shop practices and services.
