About The Position

The Commercial Strategy Intern will support the team by assisting with sales and commercial analytics, dashboard updates, recurring reporting, and research used by Sales and executive leadership. This role offers hands‑on experience working with real business data to support data‑driven decision‑making through reporting, trend analysis, and market insights.As the Commercial Strategy team manages a growing volume of data initiatives, the intern will play a key role in scaling the team’s efforts by supporting data preparation and research, empowering the group to take on additional strategic initiatives across Sales, Marketing, Client Success, and Industry Education. Primary Project Power BI Commercial Analytics Sales Dashboard Revamp: This project focuses on revitalizing the existing Power BI sales dashboard by redesigning visualizations and rebuilding underlying calculations to improve speed, reliability, and ease of use. The effort will eliminate manual filter resets and reduce delays during month‑end and year‑end turnover, while introducing enhanced Power BI click‑through and drill‑down functionality. This will enable users to move seamlessly from high‑level performance views into underlying accounts to analyze which verticals are growing fastest, which products are seeing accelerated adoption within each vertical, and which specific shippers are driving that growth. The project offers a strong hands‑on opportunity for an intern to develop skills in Power BI, data modeling, dashboard design, and commercial insight generation while delivering meaningful, business‑ready improvements.   Additional Project Opportunities (as time allows) Commercial reporting inventory, intake, and governance: Establish a centralized inventory of commercial reporting to serve as a single source of truth, paired with a structured intake process for new reporting requests. This includes defining ownership, prioritization criteria, and basic governance to improve transparency, reduce ad‑hoc and duplicative reporting, and better align reporting development with commercial priorities. Online education & AI companion support: Contribute to training and enablement efforts for the Online Education AI companion, helping improve usability, adoption, and self‑service learning for commercial users. Industry knowledge development through LTL Certification (CLTL) learning: Complete CLTL coursework to build foundational LTL industry knowledge that supports more informed analysis, reporting, and collaboration with commercial stakeholders. Reporting process automation (as applicable): Where skill set allows, apply automation tools such as Power Automate to streamline report maintenance, access, or distribution, reducing manual effort and improving consistency.   Learning Objectives and Benefits Gain real-world experience in data analytics, business intelligence, and commercial strategy using live business data. Develop technical skills in Excel, Power BI, data validation, and commercial reporting, with exposure to tools such as ZoomInfo and CRM systems Learn how analytics, dashboards, and market insights support strategic decision-making across Sales, Marketing, and executive leadership. Strengthen analytical thinking, attention to detail, and data storytelling skills through leadership-facing reports and presentations. Receive mentorship, feedback, and coaching from experienced Commercial Strategy professionals, with exposure to cross-functional collaboration and leadership workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
  • Basic to intermediate SQL for querying and aggregating data.
  • Understanding of data validation and quality control concepts.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate data insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Introductory experience with Python or a willingness to learn quickly
  • Microsoft CoPilot, Outlook, SharePoint
