About The Position

The Commercial Sheet Metal Foreman leads field execution for commercial HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal work on new construction and renovation projects. You plan and direct daily work, coordinate with other trades and the project team, enforce safety and quality standards, and deliver installations on schedule and per plans/specs. 📍 Working Location: Elizabethtown, PA. 💰 Pay Range: $34hr - $40hr 🕒 M - F, 7am - 3:30pm Benefits Key Responsibilities: Lead daily crew meetings, assign tasks, set expectations, and drive production goals for sheet metal installation teams. Supervise and mentor sheet metal mechanics and apprentices, enforcing high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and accountability. Coordinate manpower requirements with the project manager, including crew size, skill levels, and approved overtime. Oversee installation of commercial HVAC sheet metal systems including ductwork, fittings, hangers, supports, louvers, dampers, diffusers, grilles, registers, and air distribution components. Interpret blueprints, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, and manufacturer installation requirements. Plan and schedule work activities 1–3 weeks in advance, coordinating phasing, inspections, deliveries, and jobsite access. Coordinate work with other trades including piping, electrical, controls, TAB technicians, and general contractors to maintain workflow. Verify layout, elevations, measurements, and field conditions before installation to ensure accuracy and compliance with project plans. Conduct quality control inspections of installed sheet metal systems to ensure proper alignment, support, sealing, and specification compliance. Enforce jobsite safety procedures, identify hazards, and stop work when unsafe conditions are present. Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure mechanical spaces remain orderly throughout project execution. Forecast, order, and coordinate materials, equipment, and prefabricated components to maintain productivity and reduce delays. Provide daily progress reports including manpower usage, production status, jobsite challenges, and milestone updates. Track labor hours, tasks, and job-cost allocations accurately through timesheets and project reporting systems.

Requirements

  • 5+ years commercial HVAC sheet metal experience; foreman/lead experience preferred
  • Strong ability to read plans, specs, and shop drawings and execute code- and spec-compliant installation
  • Proven crew leadership, communication, and jobsite coordination skill
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyman license or equivalent field competency where applicable
  • Experience running multi-phase commercial HVAC projects (underground/sleeves where applicable, rooftop/unit setting coordination, rough-in, above-ceiling duct, trim, startup support, final/punch)
  • Experience with duct layout, field coordination, and prefabrication workflows
  • Mentoring/teaching mindset with apprentices
