JOB SUMMARY: Locates and inspects commercial and industrial real property, and calculates tax assessment value ensuring property in Hall County is equitably and fairly assessed. Processes tax appeals and transfers of commercial and industrial properties. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Researches, identifies and locates commercial and indu8strial property; inspects property to be appraised; obtains all pertinent data (quality, size, shape, age, depreciation) required to properly establish appraised market value of the property; appraises commercial/industrial property splits. Records data collected during field audit onto property cards; locates and records property data related to zoning, comparable market data, and other pertinent factors. Utilizes approved appraisal calculation methods and property data collected to establish appraised market value of the property. Processes tax appeals and transfers of commercial and industrial properties. Compiles ratio and market study data analyzing relationships between reported sales and appraised values used for taxation to ensure Hall County is assessing commercial and industrial property fairly and equitably and according to all regulations related to ad valorem taxation. Answers property owner inquiries related to appraisal of property; justifies values during appeals to the Board of Tax Assessors, Board of Equalization, and/or Superior Court. Regular and predictable attendance is required. Performs other related duties as required.
