Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain, operations, or customer-facing roles within an industrial or engineered systems environment
  • Demonstrated experience leading customer service or inside sales teams
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory management, and logistics
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to balance customer needs, pricing, and operational constraints
  • Demonstrated ERP system expertise
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in engineered-to-order, project-based, or technical product environments
  • Background in life sciences, bioprocessing, fluid handling, or regulated industries
  • Experience supporting both inside and field sales organizations

Responsibilities

  • Lead the customer service / inside sales team, ensuring high-quality customer engagement from inquiry through order fulfillment
  • Oversee order entry, order management, and customer communication regarding pricing, lead times, and delivery status
  • Support inside sales activities including quoting, product selection assistance, and order conversion
  • Act as an escalation point for customer issues related to pricing, availability, delivery, or technical coordination
  • Partner closely with field sales to support account management and growth initiatives
  • Manage purchasing activities for materials, components, and finished goods
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and reliable lead times
  • Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, and delivery schedules
  • Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions where required
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations to ensure accurate and timely movement of goods
  • Manage inventory levels to support customer demand while optimizing working capital
  • Implement best practices for inventory control, cycle counting, and warehouse organization
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and shipping requirements
  • Align supply chain planning with sales demand, forecasts, and project schedules
  • Develop and track KPIs including on-time delivery, order accuracy, inventory turns, and quote-to-order conversion
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain and customer-facing processes
  • Support ERP and system enhancements related to order management, purchasing, and inventory
  • Lead and develop team members across customer service / inside sales, purchasing, and warehouse operations
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer focus, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, quality, and finance to ensure seamless execution
