Commercial Operations Specialist I
About The Position
The Commercial Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting sales and marketing activities by developing proposals, coordinating cross-functional inputs, and improving commercial processes to ensure high-quality, competitive bids. This role requires strong attention to detail, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. The Commercial Operations Specialist will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Implementation, and Customers to support Mitsubishi Power's Power Generation Services (PGS) business.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting commercial or sales operations, preferably in the energy, power generation, or manufacturing industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Detail-oriented and proactive approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop proposals and quotations for complex service projects and customer requirements.
- Coordinate input from internal teams including Sales, Engineering, and Implementation.
- Ensure timely delivery of accurate and competitive bids and proposals.
- Assist with market research, sales forecasting, and opportunity tracking.
- Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders under tight deadlines.
- Support process improvement initiatives to streamline commercial operations.
- Prepare and maintain proposal templates, tools, and documentation.
- Assist with customer inquiries and ensure customer satisfaction through prompt follow-up.
- Support compliance with internal approval processes such as GOA approvals.
- Contribute to achieving departmental goals and metrics.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
- Report unsafe activities to Management or Human Resources.
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve company goals.
- Contribute to building a positive and collaborative team spirit.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and customers.
