SUMMARY: The Commercial Loan Specialist I (CLS I) provides support to a group of Commercial Loan Officers. The CLS I prepares and coordinates commercial lending documentation and processing within strict regulatory guidelines, provides outstanding customer service, collaborates closely with Bank departments such as the Loan Servicing and Deposit Operations and participates in commercial lending and bank-wide projects. The CLS is part of the relationship management efforts for commercial customers and also has a solid knowledge of Bank products and services in order to build an understanding of our customers’ banking needs. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for processing Lines of Credit. Utilizes information provided by lender to create and process loan documents in system. Runs credit reports as necessary. Responsible for processing Term Loans. Creates and processes loan documents in system based on credit memo. Enters terms accurately into system. Runs credit reports as necessary. May need follow up with customer to ensure we have all documentation. Creates daily overdraft report for lenders, Provides a variety of administrative duties related to the Commercial Lending function: documentation, customer correspondence, loan advances, scanning, photocopies of materials, mail screening and processing, purchasing of supplies and monitoring overdrafts for Lender approval. Creates financial statement letters. Maintains various database reports including the financial statement tracking report. Manages pipeline, tracks customer applications, triggers regulatory component, and UCC filings. Works with Lenders to collect missing loan documentation, follows up on missing items after loan closing and help monitor and collect past due real estate taxes and tax escrow set up. CLSs are a part of the commercial team that provides outstanding customer service resulting in customer retention and customer referrals. Serves as a liaison between lenders, customers, and other parties as necessary when lenders are unavailable or are out of the office. Responds to inquiries within area of authority and resolves problems as appropriate. Serves as a liaison between lenders and other internal departments such as Loan Servicing, Deposit Operations, and Banking Centers to assist customers. Develops strong working relationship with these departments. Prepares loan documentation for loan types except for commercial mortgages, for review by the respective lender. Loan documentation includes: Loan notes, security agreements, loan agreements, UCCs, borrowing authority, compliance documents, modifications, etc. Follows strict regulatory guidelines. Remains up-to-date on Bank loan policy and compliance issues.
