About The Position

The Commercial Loan Servicer I services the Member Business Loans (MBL) portfolio including: monitoring accounts for loan payments, working with delinquent borrowers, verifying taxes and insurance on all properties are current, requesting and monitoring the annual financial review documentation. Assists in setting up new loans on mortgage servicing system and ensures that all data is correct. Compiles, tracks, and electronically files monthly trial balance and portfolio reports. Monitors all loan payments for MBLs ensuring payments are made in a timely manner. Makes follow-up calls to members and/or property managers according to department procedures. Performs set-up of new MBL loans on Loan Servicing system. Ensures that all data is entered correctly and completes post-closing review of loan documents for accuracy. Responds to member inquiries in person, e-mail and by telephone. Prepares payoff demand statements and remit to appropriate parties. Monitors the annual review process for all real estate secured MBLs ensuring they are completed in a timely manner to avoid significant audit findings. Sends appropriate notifications and obtains pertinent information to complete financial reviews. Determines the adequacy and accuracy of documents and follows-up with members to obtain missing documents. Forwards completed package as directed by the Credit Manager. Maintains in-depth knowledge of and complies with all Mission Fed, departmental and security policies and procedures, as well as, federal regulations applicable to the position, including BSA requirements. Completes all required compliance training as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in a billing or payment processing position is required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Possesses basic math skills including understanding calculation of principal and interest loan payments.
  • Software: Must possess strong computer skills with intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Nice To Haves

  • Loan servicing and previous financial institution experience is preferred.
  • Experience with Symitar or Servicing Director preferred.
