Requirements

  • Business degree preferred; or completion of real estate finance, appraisal, and principles courses; or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in commercial lending functions.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial lending procedures
  • Thorough understanding of equal credit and equal lending regulations
  • Excellent financial analysis skills and strong numerical aptitude
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities
  • Proven ability to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • In accordance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (SAFE Act), employees acting as Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) must register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS), obtain a unique identifier, and maintain active registration.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit, originate, and coordinate the closing of commercial real estate loans.
  • Serve as the primary contact for commercial loan clients, brokers, developers, and contractors.
  • Proactively develop new commercial lending relationships and expand existing ones.
  • Represent the bank professionally in business development efforts.
  • Interview applicants to assess creditworthiness, stability, earnings, and project viability.
  • Obtain and analyze financial and credit data for all partners involved in loan projects.
  • Arrange for property appraisals and feasibility studies when required.
  • Evaluate vacancy factors, collateral, partnership structures, and risk indicators.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all financial and loan data.
  • Ensure commercial loan packages are complete and compliant with: Bank underwriting guidelines Regulatory requirements Secondary market lending parameters
  • Present qualified loan projects to Loan Committee.
  • Notify applicants when requests do not conform to current lending guidelines.
  • Maintain current knowledge of commercial lending products and regulations.
