About The Position

Are you an experienced Commercial Loan Officer? Our team needs your lending expertise and desire to provide excellent member service. As a Commercial Loan Officer, you’ll solicit and offer commercial loan products and services in order to champion our members’ financial well-being. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing teams together and championing their members. Your day might include: Originate, evaluate, negotiate, underwrite, and prepare new Member Business Loan applications, with a strong emphasis on commercial real estate and commercial C&I lending. Serve as the primary point of contact for developing new Member Business relationships throughout Washington, Oregon, and Idaho building and maintaining a strong referral and business network. Conduct comprehensive credit analysis by compiling, analyzing, and verifying financial statements, tax returns, collateral documentation, and other relevant information to structure sound lending solutions. Interview loan applicants to assess creditworthiness and business viability; clearly communicate loan structures, pricing, terms, collateral requirements, and approval conditions. Present well-structured loan recommendations to management and/or the Commercial Loan Committee and communicate approval conditions to members. Ensure loan packages are complete, accurate, and compliant with internal policy and regulatory requirements prior to closing. Adhere to fraud prevention protocols, HMDA requirements, and all applicable federal and state regulations governing commercial lending. Utilize lending systems to process, close, and maintain loans while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality of member information. Proactively manage a portfolio of commercial loans by maintaining ongoing relationships with members, monitoring credit performance, identifying risk, and resolving post-closing issues to maintain portfolio quality. Provide exceptional member service by responding promptly to inquiries, explaining credit decisions professionally, and delivering a high standard of relationship management. Collaborate cross-functionally with credit, operations, and executive leadership to ensure efficient loan processing and an excellent member experience.

Requirements

  • Eight (8) or more years of relevant commercial lending experience
  • Five (5) or more years of underwriting experience in commercial real estate or C&I lending
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in accounting, finance, and/or economics preferred; a high school diploma with a minimum of eight years of relevant experience and post-secondary technical coursework may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of loan documentation (application and closing)
  • Knowledge of investor and commercial lending regulations
  • Knowledge of business loan products
  • Experience and proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Residential mortgage lending experience or knowledge
