Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial lending, credit analysis, or business banking
  • Strong knowledge of financial statement analysis, cash flow, and credit structuring
  • Experience with loan origination systems and financial analysis tools preferred

Responsibilities

  • Generate new commercial lending opportunities through networking, referrals, and community involvement
  • Build strong relationships with business members, prospects, and key partners (CPAs, attorneys, brokers, etc.)
  • Identify and develop deposit and treasury relationships alongside lending opportunities
  • Represent the Credit Union at community and industry events
  • Evaluate borrower financials, creditworthiness, and repayment capacity
  • Structure loan terms and make sound credit decisions within authority
  • Prepare and present loan packages, including financial analysis and risk assessments
  • Coordinate loan documentation and ensure efficient, timely closings
  • Maintain a high-quality commercial loan portfolio (typically under $10MM in relationships)
  • Monitor financial performance, including statements, tax returns, and cash flow
  • Proactively identify and mitigate credit risk
  • Ensure compliance with loan covenants and reporting requirements
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business members, providing tailored financial solutions
  • Build long-term relationships that support member success and loyalty
  • Assist with problem loan resolution and risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations (BSA, OFAC, USA PATRIOT Act)
  • Maintain accurate and complete loan documentation
