The Commercial Loan Administrator is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of commercial loans—from origination and documentation to closing, booking, servicing, and disposition. The role ensures compliance with internal policies, NCUA guidelines, and regulatory requirements while providing technical support to loan officers and superior service to business members. Requirements

  • Required: 5 or more years of experience in commercial services or commercial loan operations
  • Strong knowledge of commercial loan documentation, servicing processes, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with LaserPro or other loan documentation systems.
  • Experience in a member service, client-facing environment.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Experience in commercial loan processing or commercial loan operations with knowledge of commercial documentation systems and processes, specifically Commercial Loan Administration and Servicing.
  • Ability to learn and utilize multiple software systems.
  • Knowledge and experience with basic Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal Member Business Lending (MBL) and Commercial regulations and Credit Union Policies.
  • Basic knowledge of financial accounting and corporate finance concepts

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree Business, Accounting, Finance or related field
  • SBA loan experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and review all documentation and due diligence requirements, such as flood letters, title work, appraisals, environmental reports, entity documents, corporate searches, credit bureau reports, collateral, tax transcript verification, and supplementary file documentation to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance with approval requirements, internal loan policy, and NCUA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct the pre-closing and closing processes to include the ordering and review of supporting documentation, preparation of loan documents, and boarding of Commercial Loans and MBLs to the appropriate systems in compliance with credit union policies, procedures, and loan approval requirements.
  • Complete all requirements to perfect security interest in various types of collateral, including commercial real estate, accounts receivable, equipment, etc.
  • Process payoff requests in accordance with terms of the Note and Loan Agreements.
  • Review of closed loan package to ensure system information is complete and accurate, and all documents are complete and accurate.
  • Track and resolve loan file exceptions in consultation with the Commercial Loan Specialist.
  • Verify that proper approvals have been obtained and regulatory, credit policy, legal and operational requirements have been met.
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to loan officers, credit analysts, and other Credit Union staff as needed.
  • Perform post-closing review to ensure loan was booked according to the loan documents and set up loan ticklers for tracking purposes and help clear technical exceptions including insurance, property taxes, UCC continuations, recorded documents, final title policies, etc.
  • Service existing Commercial Loans and MBLs, which includes processing loan modifications, payoffs, collateral changes, lien releases, satisfactions, subordinations, business status changes, and financial transactions such as payments and advances as well as other standard loan servicing tasks.
  • Assist Relationship Managers in contacting members and other agents (i.e., CPA’s, insurance agents, etc) to obtain all necessary documentation for the loan file.
  • Administer floating rate (adjustable rate) loans including researching and updating index values
  • Other duties as assigned.
