Brown & Brown is seeking Commercial Lines Team Lead to join our growing team in Garden City, NY! The Property Casualty Team Lead will drive a culture of success through efficient processes and team member engagement with the account team in order to provide quality customer service and meet retention goals. How You Will Contribute: Establish, direct and monitor unit goals and objectives that are in alignment with the department strategy and in accordance with established policies and procedures. Regularly evaluate and identify short-term recruitment needs and strategies to retain top talent for the unit. Develop an onboarding curriculum for new team members to ensure successful acclimation to the office and clear understanding of the defined processes and procedures. Identify areas of inefficiencies and develop ongoing training plans for team members incorporating the use of internal and external resources. Supervise, train, and develop the capabilities of the team in a manner that enhances their professional development and the office’s level of service to clients. Review and prepare monthly analyses to measure team members progress in achieving unit objectives. Ensure that systems, procedures, and insurance company regulations are adhered to. Promote collaboration between the unit and service department to deliver an exceptional customer experience and improve efficiencies and streamline processes. Maximize use of the agency management system and technology through regular training. Promote teamwork, support, knowledge sharing and a positive attitude in the department and office. Promote a commitment to achieve or exceed internal performance standards. Participate in training opportunities to remain current on industry information, new product development, legislation, coverages, and technology including professional development and continuing education required for valid licensing. All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid Property & Casualty Producers License.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of insurance coverages, contracts, and state regulations where business is conducted.
  • Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Windows environment, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Power Point, and Publisher. Able to create, edit, and merge letters, spreadsheets, labels, etc.
  • Proficient knowledge use of office equipment (including but not limited to copy machines, printers, faxes, binding machine, etc.)
  • 7+ years’ experience in the insurance industry, or a related field.
