About The Position

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is looking for a Full-time SBA Loan Officer for our American Fork branch. Summary In partnership with division wide business banking relationship managers, the SBA Loan Officer will work to grow the SBA 7a and Express loan and line portfolio in the division. Will work with the business banking relationship manager to build relationships with customers and prospects that would have a need for these SBA products. Will work with the referring RM by calling on the customer or prospect and underwriting and structuring the credit with the assistance of the SBA department to ensure that all SBA guidelines are met. The SBA loan officer would be the true ambassador of the SBA 7a and Express loans and lines and how best to sell these products to our customers and prospects. Ensures honest, open communication is occurring in their loan team, branch, and departments of the bank they interact with. Fosters an atmosphere of professionalism, trust, teamwork, and caring. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for growing the SBA 7a & Express loan portfolio in the division Subject matter expert, RM role in nCino, structure and underwrite credit memo (PM role) on all SBA Express and 7a requests in the division. This role would be the division ambassador of SBA Express and 7a lending and how best to sell these products to the entire division. Responsible for pre-flight and structuring of all SBA Express and 7a loan requests working with the referring RM and the SBA department. Fully process each SBA express and 7a line or loan from customer application to close with the support of the referring RM. All requests will be reviewed and approved by Senior Credit Risk Officer. SBA/USDA Department Manager will review request for SBA eligibility and will be supported by SBA Loan Closer. SBALO will be expected to go on in person (Teams or phone) calls with RM’s in the division to understand the deal and be the SME for the opportunity. Will work with the SBA department to ensure all loans meet SBA guidelines and are fully SBA eligible. Will work closely with SBA Senior Credit Risk Officer to ensure that all underwriting requirements are being met on each CM. Including the traditional review by for SBA Department for eligibility. Will work with SBA loan assistant to ensure all loans are processed and booked to meet SBA eligibility. Will work with Region Presidents to ensure that RM SBA needs are being met and that the SBA loan process is fully understood with the support of his or her Region President. Will work with the marketing department for self-sourcing opportunities of SBA Express and 7a. Helping to produce list of prospects that could have need for SBA Express and 7a lines and loans. Adhere to Altabank Core Values. Keeps management appropriately informed of area activities and of any significant problems. Participate in Community Service and Bank sponsored activities that serve and support the mission and values of the Altabank. Provide superior internal and external customer service: must demonstrate self-governance, courtesy, and respect toward external customers as well as internal customers (all organization personnel).

Requirements

  • Two to five years of similar or related experience.
  • A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have knowledge of SBA 7a and Express bank products, lending law and compliance requirements
  • Must have experience analyzing financial statements and other pertinent data for assessing risk.
  • Good computer skills and communication skills.
  • Must be capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change (e.g. shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
