About The Position

Are you a natural communicator who loves the thrill of the hunt? We are looking for a high-energy Insurance Business Development Specialist to join our team. This isn't a 'wait for the phone to ring' job, it’s an opportunity for a proactive professional to build relationships, solve problems, and drive growth within a specialized national market. This position will generate new business for a nationally licensed property & casualty insurance agency. You will create relationships with members of the trade association to determine their risk management needs with regards to commercial insurance, bonds and state licensing. You aren't shouting into the void. You’ll be leveraging ACA’s established reputation to build trust with members who already value our organization. Requirements

  • 1-2 years of commercial insurance sales experience.
  • Valid Property and Casualty Insurance Producer license.
  • Excellent customer service skills and detail orientated. ACA is looking for someone with a passion for providing excellent customer service.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills. Able to work effectively within department and broader organizational team, fostering cooperation and working cross-functionally.
  • Adaptable to changing situations and priorities based on needs of the team and the association.

Nice To Haves

  • College degree is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with E&O and Cyber coverage is preferred, but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Consult with business owners to protect their livelihoods, by selling insurance, surety bonds, and licensing services.
  • Work with top rated carriers offering program exclusive policies.
  • Identify and seize opportunities to expand our footprint within the association.
  • Maintains knowledge of all products and services offered.
  • Owns the sales cycle from first contact to closing the sale.
  • Works with the General Manager in product development and relationships with our broker and carriers.
  • Track your wins and provide strategic updates to the General Manager.
  • Works with team members to develop and use new marketing pieces, not limited to mailings, advertisement placements, and emails promoting value of offerings.
  • Writes articles and creates meeting/webinar presentations as needed.
  • Plans and implements agency’s booth presence, promotions and marketing for trade shows.
  • Represent the agency at 3-5 trade shows per year.
