Commercial Glass Technician
About The Position
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Commercial Glass Technician to join our team. This position is ideal for candidates with general construction, installation, or trade experience who are comfortable using hand and power tools and working on commercial job sites. Prior commercial glass experience is helpful but not required — we provide on-the-job training for candidates who demonstrate strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety. You will assist with the installation, repair, and replacement of commercial glass products while maintaining high standards of workmanship, job site safety, and professionalism.
Requirements
- Any construction, installation, or trade-related experience preferred
- Experience using hand and power tools required
- Willingness to learn commercial glass installation techniques
- Basic math skills and ability to take accurate measurements
- Safety-minded with the ability to work carefully around glass and at job sites
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver materials safely with assistance as needed
- Comfortable working at heights, on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding (with training)
- Ability to perform physical work including lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
Responsibilities
- Travel to commercial job sites to assist with glass installation and repair projects
- Measure, prepare, and install glass and related components under supervision and training
- Use hand and power tools (drills, grinders, levels, saws, etc.) safely and effectively
- Assist with installing commercial doors, windows, storefront systems, and other glass assemblies
- Install or assist with showers and interior glass applications as needed
- Help lift, position, align, and secure glass panels, frames, and hardware safely
- Apply sealants, caulking, gaskets, and weatherproofing materials as trained
- Assist in reading and following basic drawings, layouts, or work instructions
- Inspect completed work for proper fit, appearance, and stability
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites at all times
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles, report damage or safety concerns
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and PPE requirements
- Communicate professionally with supervisors, contractors, and team members
