About The Position

Travel to customer sites to deliver, assemble, and install commercial furniture; read floor plans; lead small crews; and make on-site adjustments to ensure a clean, professional final result. Since 1971, Blockhouse has been designing, manufacturing, and installing custom, commercial-grade furniture in high-use environments, including colleges, healthcare facilities, and the military. Requirements

  • Must be 21+
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Experience using hand and power tools (drills, measuring tools)
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work independently in a field-based role without close supervision while staying organized on job sites.
  • Flexible with changing schedules, travel demands, and work environments.
  • Interacts well with customers and represents the company professionally.
  • Brings a high level of confidence and assertiveness with the ability to lead temporary crews while also collaborating effectively with other installers on multi-lead job sites.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs., stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods, and use hand and power tools
  • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and drug test to obtain a medical card.
  • Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Travel nationwide to job sites (90% travel) to deliver, assemble, and install furniture.
  • Drive company or rental vehicles to deliver furniture to job sites.
  • Meet shipments on-site, unload, and set furniture in place.
  • Assemble & install furniture, including securing items to floors or walls as required.
  • Read & follow floor plans to ensure accurate placement.
  • Make on-site adjustments and perform basic repairs as needed.
  • Remove & dispose of existing furniture when required.
  • Lead & direct temporary crews on-site.
  • Support in-house work, manufacturing, or repairs when not traveling.

  • Full-time position with heavy travel (nationwide) and flexible hours based on customer schedules
  • $23/hour, depending on experience
