About The Position

This Commercial Escrow Assistant is responsible for assisting in the coordination and closing of commercial single-site transactions and multi-state refinance and sale transactions under the direct supervision of a Senior VP and Underwriting Counsel; Escrow Officers and Escrow Manager; for accounting and escrow functions; for answering inquiries from customers and staff on pending transactions; and for maximum levels of customer satisfaction in the providing of title and closing services. This is an in-office position in our downtown Chicago office

Responsibilities

  • Assist escrow officers with all commercial closing functions, including but not limited to preparation of settlement statements, review of escrow instructions, adhering to local closing customs, confirming wire instructions, initiating wires and approving wires as needed, recording documents, trial balance maintenance.
  • Assist title coordinators in the placement of title orders to the field and to the customer.
  • Support Title and Escrow Manager as needed.
  • Work with underwriting staff and Escrow Manager on closing and post-closing functions.
  • Coordinate local and national recordings.
  • Manage post-closing escrows.
  • Transaction accounting to include payments to agents; payments to local offices, booking fees to NCTS office.
  • Assist department with other administrative responsibilities.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned by Escrow Officers or Escrow Manager
  • Ability to work from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday
  • Ability to supervise assistants and support staff, as necessary;
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and handle multiple site projects and portfolios;
  • Be responsible for the management of revenue;
  • Must be personable, positive and a professional representative of the Company;
  • Regular consistent attendance is required;
  • Ability to accept supervision;
  • Ability to foster, develop and maintain professional and collaborative working relationships. Must be able to get along and interact with others, i.e., peers, supervisors, outside customers, and vendors, by email, phone and in person;
  • Ability to work overtime as requested and approved by supervisor.
