About The Position

We are currently hiring a Commercial Drywall and Framing Mechanic with expertise in carpentry, metal stud framing, and drywall installation to support projects at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, NC. We are a nationwide design-build contractor delivering expedited commercial construction projects for both government and private-sector clients, with a strong emphasis on Department of Defense work. Founded in 1996, RQC, LLC has grown from a regional builder in Southern California to a national contractor with projects across the United States. This is a field-based, hands-on position where you'll contribute directly to construction operations. You will perform a wide range of skilled and general carpentry duties, using hand and power tools to help construct and finish interior spaces. Maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient job site will be an essential part of your daily work. This position offers long-term growth with a company that emphasizes quality work, safety, and employee support. Work is performed on a military installation and is compensated in accordance with Davis-Bacon prevailing wage requirements specific to the site. All duties must be completed using proper tools, equipment, and safety practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years of carpentry experience (including rough and/or finish carpentry)
  • At least 2 years of commercial construction or trade experience (government, military, or large-scale commercial projects preferred)
  • Proven experience installing steel stud framing systems

Nice To Haves

  • ACT installation experience is a plus
  • CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
  • Forklift and/or manlift certification
  • Trenching and shoring training
  • Fall protection certification
  • Confined space training
  • Lockout/Tagout training
  • Scissor lift and/or boom lift certification
  • EM-385 40-hour certification
  • OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification

Responsibilities

  • Install and work with metal stud framing systems, drywall, and other commercial construction materials
  • Perform acoustical ceiling tile (ACT) installation
  • Support other trades and crew members as needed on-site
  • Prepare job sites by cleaning, trenching, and setting supports or bracing
  • Assemble and dismantle scaffolding, remove debris, and dispose of non-hazardous materials safely
  • Operate construction equipment and assist with routine maintenance
  • Adhere to all safety standards and company guidelines
