Commercial Drywall and Framing Mechanic
About The Position
We are looking for a skilled Commercial Drywall and Framing Mechanic with experience in carpentry, metal stud framing, and drywall to support projects at Kings Bay Naval Base, GA, and nearby locations . Our company operates as a full-service design-build contractor, delivering accelerated commercial construction projects for both public and private sector clients. A large portion of our work supports Department of Defense initiatives. This position is hands-on and essential to our field operations. You will complete a variety of physical and technical carpentry tasks, working with both hand and power tools to construct and finish interior spaces. Maintaining a safe, organized, and productive job site will be a key part of your responsibilities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 2 years of relevant commercial construction or trade experience (or equivalent)
- Experience with metal stud framing systems, drywall installation, and related materials
- Proven ability to frame and install steel stud systems is required
- All candidates considered for hire must provide evidence of identity and U.S. work authorization at the time of hire.
- All candidates must successfully pass a drug screening and commercial criminal background check, including a stricter Department of Defense background check, for access to job site at military base (if applicable for position being hired for).
Nice To Haves
- Prior work on government or military construction projects is a plus
- Experience with acoustical ceiling tile (ACT) installation is preferred
- CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred
