About The Position
To enhance the correctional programs of the Commonwealth of Virginia by operating a viable business entity that provides jobs and work skills for sentenced offenders to help them successfully re-enter society and offers quality goods and services to our customers, on time and at a fair price. For more information on our products, services and locations visit govce.net. Providing professional and safe transport of VCE products cross the state of Virginia in an effective and timely manner. Providing transportation needs between VCE plant locations, warehouse locations and customer sites to support the manufacturing and customer needs of the agency as well as the organizational goals of the agency. Probationary Period: If hired by VCE you will start or restart a 12-month probationary period. This is for all New Hires, Transfers, returning State Employees.
Requirements
- CDL Class A license required.
- Considerable knowledge of loading/unloading, assembling, and setting up products.
- Work experience transporting and delivering items to clients or businesses in a safe and timely manner.
- Demonstrated skills in reviewing orders before and after delivery to ensure that orders are complete, and the products are correct.
- Experience with driver safety standards to safeguard persons, property, and financial assets, and ensuring commercial vehicles and equipment meets all highway safety and government regulatory DOT requirements.
- Ability to communicate professionally and have demonstrated customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office products.
