About The Position

The position will support global marketed product development and commercial operations and other related commercial support functions. Responsibilities include counseling on laws applicable to pharmaceutical promotion and sales, industry codes and promotional practices, risk management and mitigation, and general negotiating and contracting on commercial matters. Experience in international matters and digital health is preferred. This attorney will serve as a trusted strategic business partner to the Product Development and Commercialization (PDC) teams by providing clear legal advice and practical business-focused solutions enabling the business to achieve its objectives while preserving and protecting the company’s integrity and reputation around the globe. A successful candidate will exhibit superior legal skills together with a proficiency for critical thinking and problem solving in a multi-functional environment. The position will also support the global Value & Access team, providing critical legal advice and guidance related to drug pricing, access, and reimbursement issues. Working with the Global Commercial Counsel and attorneys in the affiliate offices around the world, this includes timely support of negotiations and contracting to obtain favorable pricing and access for the company’s marketed products around the world. This position reports to the Global Commercial Counsel – Marketing and Market Access, and will be based at the company’s headquarters in Cambridge, MA. Biogen is seeking an experienced attorney with a solid background in healthcare law to be the lead global attorney providing strategic advice on commercial, regulatory and healthcare compliance issues affecting the marketing and sale of one or more of the company’s products and product candidates.

Requirements

  • 7+ years minimum experience in the bio/pharma life sciences department of a biotech or pharmaceutical company and 10+ years legal experience overall.
  • Strong legal background in the commercialization of biopharmaceutical products in the US and globa
