About The Position

As a Project Superintendent, you will oversee the construction of high-tech self-storage facilities and other complex commercial structures on site in San Diego. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring that work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. To accomplish this, you will work closely with our our internal team of project managers, coordinators, and accountants, as well as with our trusted subcontractor base and industry connections to provide your project with valuable input and budgeting to propose creative, responsible means and methods to meet each project's unique needs. Our ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, organized, and efficient problem solver who can multitask and communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members. You should be committed to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in large-scale commercial or industrial development projects, preferably in the construction of self-storage buildings.
  • Knowledgeable in project management
  • Able to understand complex project schedules
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project scheduling and Procore software.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience managing and training site assistants, including assistant superintendents and skilled laborers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of the project from start to finish.
  • Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Work closely with project managers, project coordinators, and project accountants to manage day-to-day on site operations.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure the project is progressing according to plan.
  • Ensure that subcontractors adhere to safety protocols and quality control standards.
  • Communicate regularly with project stakeholders, including the owner, architect, and other key players.
  • Manage project schedules and budgets using Microsoft Project and Procore software.
  • Manage project documents using Procore and other digital platforms.
  • Monitor and report project progress to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Train and supervise site assistants, including assistant superintendents and skilled laborers.
  • Perform quality control inspections of work in progress and completed work.
  • Ensure that the project site is clean, organized, and safe at all times.
