About The Position

As a Commercial Construction Detailer with Estimating, you are responsible for projects from concept to closeout. You estimate costs, schedule work, and create detailed submittals. Your role is key to ensuring that all project-related work is performed in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner in accordance with applicable plans, specifications, company policies, and sound construction practices. You read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, contracts, and government regulations. You create submittals based on estimate schedules, updated plans, ASKs, RFIs, change orders, and AutoCAD or TurboCAD designs. Before submitting, you review them for compliance with the contract documents. You carefully look over the approved drawings and make any needed changes. You thoroughly research any detailing or field problems. In accordance with the engineer's or architect's plans, county and state regulations, and other specifications, you manage the specified work. You are conscientious about keeping accurate records and closely tracking project costs. Your job is highly collaborative as you regularly consult with supervisory, engineering, and job site personnel. Your team-oriented attitude greatly contributes to our positive work environment. Requirements

  • Experience with detailing, specifications, and estimating within the commercial construction industry
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or TurboCAD
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural design packages
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
  • Excellent math skills
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently
  • Valid driver's license
  • Self-motivated
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attentive to detail and accuracy
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Flexible and willing to work in an environment of constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
