Get to know us: About - Gesa Credit Union Role Summary: This position will develop the skills to assist the Commercial Banking Department’s accuracy of data, effectiveness of controls and maintaining adherence within regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of similar or related experience associated with commercial banking preferred
  • Proficient with standard office equipment, word processing and reporting, and spreadsheets
  • Possess a critical and/or thoughtful mindset to identify gaps and proactively seek information to assist in project work scoped for the benefit of the department
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Attention to detail with an eye towards curiosity and investigation
  • Ability to adapt as necessary to a new process or procedure for the benefit of the department
  • The ability to prioritize tasks with conflicting and competing timelines
  • Able to work under general supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality assurance on data entry into the core data processing system
  • Review for quality control of audit general commercial banking functions (HMDA reporting, wires, account openings and flood audits) to identify inconsistencies, missing documentation, or deviations from policy
  • Assist in performing scheduled quality assurance and control checks in adherence to established departmental standards
  • Assist in the preparation for all internal reviews, 3rd party audits and exams
  • Basic understanding and desire to become certified in Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)
  • Compile and maintain work papers in conformity with departmental quality standards, guidelines, and provide supporting documentation for each audit.
  • Control risk and manage duties and tasks in a safe and sound manner.
  • Maintain and protect all sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Fundamental knowledge or understanding of commercial banking laws, regulations, and internal policies, with an ongoing commitment to staying informed about requirements governing commercial deposit and lending activities
