About The Position

The Commercial Account Manager is responsible for retaining current clients and managing client service work products to ensure compliance with internal standards and procedures. This role involves analyzing client contracts for insurance purposes, negotiating with underwriters, and communicating findings to the Account Team and clients. The manager will oversee the preparation of certificates, negotiate additional coverages, and review expiring policies with the Account Management Team. They will also prepare and present specifications to underwriters, manage invoicing, assist in account reconciliations, and develop strong business relationships with clients. The position requires a commitment to professionalism and service, as well as active participation in the company's quality management and control processes. The manager will also mentor other client service staff and assist in their career development.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of insurance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and demonstrated ability.
  • Math aptitude.
  • State of residency Producer's license.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years insurance experience.
  • Working towards industry-approved designation.

Responsibilities

  • Retain current clients.
  • Analyze client contracts for insurance purposes and negotiate with underwriters.
  • Oversee preparation of certificates in accordance with policy terms.
  • Negotiate additional coverages as required by clients.
  • Manage client service work product ensuring compliance with internal standards.
  • Review expiring policies with the Account Management Team and obtain updated renewal information.
  • Prepare and present specifications to underwriters.
  • Negotiate for breadth of coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Prepare accurate proposals.
  • Place coverage, oversee invoicing, and document to client.
  • Assist in account reconciliations as needed.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with integrity and trust.
  • Communicate with the Account Management Team regarding potential changes or concerns.
  • Prepare various displays or documentation as requested.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Complete projects upon management's request.
  • Proactively assist Team members in their career development.
  • Act as a mentor in the development of other client service staff.
  • Take on additional projects as requested by management.
