This position requires learning to read and interpret dental prescriptions and familiarizing oneself with a wide range of materials, including metal and non-metal options, used in dental restorations. The technician will learn and practice restoring natural teeth and correcting dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances, developing the technical knowledge needed for fabrication decisions. Responsibilities also include familiarization with and practice using various hand tools and equipment like electric drills, presses, lathes, and high-heat furnaces. The role emphasizes documenting learning through quizzes and worksheets, working under the supervision of trainers, and adhering to quality standard protocols, while also learning to recognize problem cases and work independently.
