About The Position

Hired at the beginning of each academic year, COMET Equipment Managers are student employees who manage the day-to-day operations of the video production facilities in the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre (COMET). Equipment Managers are usually COMET Majors with an understanding of video equipment necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Administer equipment and Media Lab policies and procedures.
  • Check in/out video equipment to students.
  • Provide training on video equipment to students.
  • Oversee edit station and Media Lab use.
  • Assist students with Adobe Creative Cloud software.
  • Monitor equipment and edit station reservations via the “Media Production Resources” course in Canvas.
  • Report technical problems with equipment or facilities to supervisors.
  • Report policy infractions by students to supervisors.
  • Keep facilities clean and organized.
  • Responsible for signing in/out of the payroll system.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities as identified by supervisors.
