About The Position

Hired at the beginning of each academic year, COMET Equipment Managers are student employees who manage the day-to-day operations of the video production facilities in the Department of Communication, Media and Theatre (COMET). Equipment Managers are usually COMET Majors with an understanding of video equipment necessary.

Responsibilities

Administer equipment and Media Lab policies and procedures.
Check in/out video equipment to students.
Provide training on video equipment to students.
Oversee edit station and Media Lab use.
Assist students with Adobe Creative Cloud software.
Monitor equipment and edit station reservations via the “Media Production Resources” course in Canvas.
Report technical problems with equipment or facilities to supervisors.
Report policy infractions by students to supervisors.
Keep facilities clean and organized.
Responsible for signing in/out of the payroll system.
Additional duties and responsibilities as identified by supervisors.
