This position requires compliance with Hydromax USA’s vaccination safety program due to potential exposure-related health risks. New hires must either provide documentation of previously completed required vaccinations or complete the required vaccinations within the first 30 days of employment. Required vaccinations include: Hepatitis B, Hepatitis A, and TDAP/Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Acellular Pertussis). As a Combo Operator 2, you will be responsible for operating a Combo/Jet-Vac truck with minimal supervision while supporting the safe and efficient cleaning of underground pipes, vaults, and tanks using high-pressure water and vacuum systems. You will perform standard diagnostics and basic repairs on equipment, complete required truck checklists, and ensure all systems are functioning properly. This role requires the ability to operate an easement machine, properly set up and cone off traffic control in accordance with safety standards, and contribute as a reliable member of the field crew. You must have a working knowledge of nozzle selection and proper PSI usage for various cleaning applications, as well as the ability to set up and operate the vacuum system, including properly decanting liquid and disposing of debris. You will play a key role in maintaining productivity, equipment readiness, and overall job site safety while reporting to the Field Operations Manager.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of Combo Operator or relevant field experience
  • Valid CDL (Class A or B) with tanker endorsement required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Certification
  • Basic understanding of Combo truck operations, including vacuum systems and PSI/nozzle usage
  • Experience with utility work, fieldwork, or outdoor labor preferred
  • Ability to work in confined spaces with proper certification
  • Ability to pass background check and pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Physically able to perform job duties, including lifting, bending, and working in varying environments
  • A valid driver’s license and obtaining a medical clearance to drive DOT-regulated vehicles (DOT Medical Certification) is considered an essential function of employment in field operations.
  • Employees must obtain this medical certification within 90 days of hire and maintain it as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and operate a Combo/Jet-Vac Truck to clean sanitary and storm systems at assigned worksites
  • Perform daily DOT inspections and maintain accurate logs and required documentation
  • Clean small and large diameter pipes, vaults, and tanks to client standards
  • Operate Combo truck systems independently, including high-pressure water and vacuum functions
  • Select and use proper nozzles and PSI for various cleaning applications
  • Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic control (cones, signs, etc.)
  • Work closely with CCTV Operators and crew members on assigned tasks
  • Monitor equipment condition and perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance
  • Utilize hand tools to support field operations and minor repairs
  • Maintain professional communication with team members, clients, and the public
  • Work in all weather conditions and travel as required for projects
  • Perform other duties as assigned
