About The Position

Responsibility includes preparing material for transport, transporting material to and from work centers with forklift equipment and 12,000 lb. COMBI Lift (four direction movement). Mill COMBI operators will also be required to load steel coils (4,000lbs to 15,000lb each) onto coil reels and move coils with a heavy-duty forklift to support mill operations. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Must have a current COMBI license and demonstrate to safely operate equipment and transport materials in crowded areas.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Employees must be able to perform tasks such as: climbing a ladder, repetitively pushing or pulling with arms in any position including overhead and lifting 75 pounds repetitively each day.
• The employee must have a reasonable range of motion and strength of all extremities and spinal segments as determined by a physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Servicing assigned work centers to assure materials are properly removed and located to the designated area.
• Loading and unloading transfer trucks, primarily in shipping
• Maneuver between associates, fixtures and other lift equipment in congested areas.
• Operate the equipment in a safe manner avoiding harm or injury and, or damage to equipment or parts.
• Assist material handlers as needed stacking parts.
• Responsible for locating and reporting parts locations through inventory tickets.
