About The Position

We are CURRENTLY seeking a phenomenal Color Formulation Specialist to join our team! What does a typical day look like? I'm glad you asked! As a member of the Operations Department, the Color Formulation Specialist is responsible for color development and release for production use in the PEM Process. Optimizes color formulations to reduce the impact on our Printing Processes.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, Manufacturing technology and/or surface coating technology certificate program or equivalent experience.
Color Acuity of “exceptional” as tested in-house on HVC color test
Strong Microsoft Office Skills
Minimum Three (3) years of experience in a color development role in a medium to large manufacturing company or related experience.

Responsibilities

Development and production color matching using PVC and/or water based colorants
Communicate / Collaborate with PDS group, CSS, and Color Formulation team
Enter/maintain related color formulations on controlled documents, records, SAP, and production systems
Compile daily reports
Collect “run samples”
Conduct visual color checks on PEM line. Quality Hold secondary checks
Conducts analysis of Printing results and optimizes the PLA Pigment to reduce the impacts of PEM proofing time
Assist in the evaluation of new pigments and materials to allow continuous improvement in this area
Maintain standard and production sample libraries
Maintain production color computer standard libraries
Scrap reduction efforts due to color / pigment related issues
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
Assist in developing and conducting programs of sampling and analysis to maintain quality standards
Other duties as assigned
