About The Position

College Ambassadors will support a community-based nonprofit focused on health awareness, outreach and community engagement. Interns will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, communications, and community engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and exceptional written communication skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette and willingness to engage in outreach.
  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok preferred).
  • Comfort using laptops, tablets, and basic office software.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to follow instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and work collaboratively with staff and community partners.
  • Interest in public health, nonprofit work, communications, marketing, or community engagement.
  • Strong background/interest in social media, content development, and marketing.
  • Must be current college student ages 19 to 22.
  • Must have transportation

Responsibilities

  • Making introductory outreach calls to community partners to confirm volunteer activities.
  • Assisting with communications, including email outreach.
  • Supporting activities and event preparation.
  • Creating short-form social media videos and content to support awareness campaigns.
  • Assisting with website updates and content organization.
  • Supporting community outreach efforts at events, businesses, and service sites.
  • Developing professional communication skills (phone, email, and written correspondence).
  • Gaining exposure to nonprofit community engagement strategies.
  • Learning basic digital marketing skills, including social media content creation
  • Understanding how health-focused nonprofits operate within the community
  • Building leadership, teamwork, and time management skills in a professional setting
