The Human Development and Family Science (HDFS) Department at Virginia Tech invites applications for a Collegiate Associate Professor of Human Development and Family Science and Director of the Adaptive Brain and Behavior (ABB) Pathways Minor. This is a full-time, academic-year position. The HDFS Department seeks a colleague with experience in curriculum leadership and development and demonstrated excellence in teaching. The responsibilities of the Director of the ABB Pathways Minor include teaching Gateway and Capstone courses for the ABB Minor, with content on integrative health, self-care, and mindfulness-based practices, as well as community engagement, program leadership, evaluation, and grant writing. The ABB Director will also perform advising duties for undergraduate students interested or enrolled in the ABB minor. Additional responsibilities will include teaching classes in the HDFS undergraduate curriculum based on need and expertise. The combined HDFS and ABB teaching load is 3/3 for the academic year. Other duties may include various service or committee assignments at the department, college, or university level.
