Major Duties Under the general supervision of the Dean, the College Schedule Of Classes (SOC) and Facilities Lead Analyst supports the College of Arts, Media, and Communication through data-driven course scheduling, staffing processes, payroll certification, and space planning. The incumbent partners with academic and campus teams to ensure compliant schedules, timely HR actions, accurate reporting, and effective use of classrooms and facilities—improving student access, operational flow, consistency, and decision-making. Reviews and audits the College’s SOC worksheets every semester to ensure compliance. Coordinates with room reservations regarding allocation of large lecture space each semester, and requests room changes after the SOC build deadlines. Supports in the recruitment of emergency hire, probationary, and permanent staff. Serves as master payroll certification reviewer for the Dean’s Office and back-up time-keeper for the College as needed. Collects, compiles, and analyzes data, helps identify areas subject to upgrade, and offers suggestions for better usage of space in the College. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a job-related field.
  • Equivalent to two (2) years of full-time, technical, analytical, or administrative experience.
  • Additional experience in a job-related field may be substituted for required education, on a year-for-year basis.
  • Knowledge of academic scheduling practices, course inventory processes (SOC), classroom reservation workflows, and related university policies and deadlines.
  • Skill in auditing SOC worksheets for accuracy and compliance, identifying scheduling conflicts, and implementing scheduling improvements that support student access while working within limited space and instructional resources.
  • Skill in collecting, compiling, and analyzing enrollment and scheduling data to support enrollment management and operational decisions.
  • Ability to prepare clear ad hoc reports (e.g., enrollment trends, low-enrollment, add/cancel, SFR, headcount) for diverse stakeholders, communicate updates and process changes effectively, and coordinate with campus partners to track schedule adjustments and resolve complex scheduling issues.
  • Knowledge of end-to-end recruitment support practices for emergency hire, probationary, and permanent staff, including position posting and committee workflow.
  • Skill in using the CHRS recruitment platform to submit job openings, guide search and screen committees on screening criteria and administrative steps, and provide clear training to department staff to support consistent, compliant hiring processes.
  • Knowledge of HR transactions and payroll processes in an academic environment, including PAR review, part-time faculty module entries, time base/appointment details, and payroll certification.
  • Ability to ensure accuracy and timeliness of submissions, maintain position description records in a shared repository, train administrative staff on required processes, and support access request submissions by understanding roles in SOLAR HR, SOC, and Advisement.
