About The Position

The College Research Coordinator I assists researchers and staff within a department, unit, or college with proposal preparation and review, proposal budget development, award administration, and related activities under general supervision. Provides guidance on compliance with Federal, State, and Local government regulations related to pre-award and/or post-award sponsored project activities. Participates in training as required by the Office for Research & Economic Development and serves as a liaison for the college to ORED. Provides pre- and post-award support to faculty, staff, and students in the development, submission, and management of internal and external grants and contracts. Assists with proposal development, budgeting, and submission, as well as monitoring awarded funds. Performs moderately complex document preparation, data management, and accounting activities in support of ISSR's grant and contract efforts. Prepares related reports for various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Strong writing, data management, bookkeeping, organizational, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently using sound judgment to solve unforeseen problems and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and other project stakeholders in a team environment
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn and use university financial and human resource systems, as well as specialized software needed to perform job duties
