Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as a cohort adjunct faculty member for the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Fort Leonard Wood. As an adjunct faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. Important Details: This position will be located at Fort Leonard Wood located at 316 Missouri Ave, Fort Leonard Wood, MO 65473 Candidates will need to be on-site Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, OR Thursday from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM Central Standard Time (CST) once a week Course: College Mathematics The course covers mathematics that matter in modern society. Key areas of focus include financial literacy, numerically-based decision making, growth, scale, and numerical applications. The course applies basic college-level mathematics to real-life problems and is appropriate for students whose majors do not require college algebra or higher.
Requirements
- PhD in Mathematics OR Statistics OR Closely related field with high school or post-secondary teaching experience
- Master’s in Mathematics Statistics OR Closely related field which requires calculus or above, or statistics coursework, such as Physics and Engineering
- Candidates with a Master's degree in any discipline and 3-5 years of experience teaching high school or post-secondary applied mathematics may also be considered
- Your unofficial transcripts for any applicable conferred graduate degrees
Responsibilities
- Facilitate classroom lecture and discussions
- Engage students in learning course objectives and topics
- Assess student performance and mentor success in the classroom
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission of Grand Canyon University
