About The Position

The College and Career Advisor will be  responsible for collaborating with the School Director in the developing, planning, organizing, and directing of the school-wide college and career readiness program and overseeing the preparation of all learners for college and career.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Educational Administration or a related field.
  • Experience in school administration and curriculum development.
  • Excellent understanding of the seven habits.
  • Exceptional systems thinking with the ability to create sustainability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Thrive in a collaborative, team based and fast-paced environment.
  • Be passionate and supportive of mission and vision as well as have a strong desire to make a difference for the future of all iLEAD Schools.

Responsibilities

  • Help learners become aware of all phases of post-secondary school options.
  • Help learners gain an awareness of interests and abilities.
  • Oversee learner access in Scoir.
  • Understand school graduation requirements and parallel entrance requirements for post-secondary institutions.
  • Create resource materials and timelines of important high school milestones to educate independent study families.
  • Be knowledgeable about concurrent enrollment options.
  • Sign concurrent enrollment forms for learners as needed.
  • Coordinate and implement the dissemination of information to learners, parents, and community members pertaining to the college admissions process.
  • Contribute articles and updates  in relation to college information.
  • Plan, coordinate and communicate college fair opportunities.
  • Assist with coordinating PSAT/NMSQT/ACT/Sat  testing.
  • Facilitate webinars and/or workshops on a variety of topics including: applying to college, financing college, completing the FAFSA, writing competent college essays and more.
  • Update the high school profile annually.
  • Track data on college and career information for internal and external reporting.
  • Participate in college collaboration meetings with other school counselors for iLEAD Schools.
  • Collaborate  with various departments to problem solve, brainstorm and arrive at solutions.
  • Work closely with the high school team to continuously develop the high school program.
  • Establish, review and revise college and career readiness programs and services as they relate to iLEAD’s mission and vision.
  • Provide ongoing educational opportunities for parents and families (ED Talks, Parent University).
  • Complete other duties as defined by the school or program Director.
