JOB SUMMARY: The Career Advisor provides comprehensive, learner-centered career services to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni across Northeastern’s global network. This role integrates individual counseling, experiential learning design, and strategic programming to support learners in designing meaningful career pathways. The Career Advisor will manage one or more industry-focused career communities (e.g., law, healthcare, business, technology, social impact, etc.) and develop and deliver targeted programming and resources aligned with labor market trends and students interests. Depending on background, experience or interest, the advisor may provide specialized coaching in areas such as graduate or law school preparation. A key component of this role includes designing and delivering experiential learning initiatives — including industry treks and other immersive programs — to prepare students for success in the workplace. This position blends high-touch advising with scalable program delivery, data-informed decision-making, and innovation in career education — including integrating emerging technologies and AI tools into the career development process (e.g., assessments, job search strategy, application materials, interview preparation, and labor market analysis). The Career Advisor may supervise student Career Peer Ambassadors and serve on departmental or divisional committees (e.g., marketing, career readiness, curriculum, data, co-op readiness, assessment, or technology initiatives). This is a hybrid role (3 days in-office) with occasional evening and weekend programming.
