About The Position

The Social- Emotional Learning Instructor will facilitate SEL activities, supervise youth who are ages 10 - 15, provide light housekeeping, and support the Jr. executive staff each day.

Requirements

Must have experience working with children and be willing to work with children from diverse backgrounds.
Must be current college student ages 19 to 22.
Interns must provide their own transportation.

Responsibilities

Lead Social Emotional Learning Activities during SEL class.
Facilitate Social-Emotional Development throughout each day.
Assist the executive staff members with different program responsibilities, as needed, throughout each day.
Supervise, facilitate, and participate in activities in accordance with the A.Y.E.S. policies.
Empty trash bins, sweep and mop floors, clean and sanitize counters, tables, and bathrooms, Wash and put away dishes, and clean restrooms.
Help prevent injuries and accidents and promote safety and well-being.
Establish and maintain effective professional relationships with young people and their families encouraging them to participate, engage, have fun, and achieve.
Provide mentoring and support to program participants.
Participate and learn from training and other learning opportunities to enhance personal and professional development.
Always be a positive model, maintain a professional appearance, and act to maintain the good reputation of A.Y.E.S.
Support the participants to reduce risk factors relating to anti-social and offensive behavior.
Work in accordance with organizational guidelines and procedures
Comply with all aspects of our Code of Conduct and always adhere to national/local and A.Y.E.S. Safeguarding Policies.
