About The Position

The Collections Team Lead will oversee day-to-day operations of a designated collections team, ensuring productivity, quality, and performance goals are met or exceeded. This role serves as a working leader providing guidance, coaching, and support to team members while acting as a liaison between frontline staff and management. The ideal candidate has strong RCM expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative, solutions driven mindset. Requirements

  • Requires a minimum of an Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred and:
  • Behavioral health out-of-network billing: 3-5 years of experience
  • Knowledge and experience with CollaborateMD EMR and billing software programs
  • Willingness to submit to drug and background screenings
  • Manage direct and indirect remote employees and ensures internal controls are followed
  • Knowledge of delegated credentialing and verification
  • Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements
  • Knowledge of medical credentialing procedures and standards

  • Experience with ABA therapy preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of collectors.
  • Monitor daily productivity, quality metrics, and KPIs; address performance gaps proactively.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for complex claims, escalations, and payer issues.
  • Review hourly and daily productivity and the quality of each team member’s work and provide coaching for improvement.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new hires and cross-training of existing staff.
  • Ensure team compliance with payer guidelines, client requirements, and internal policies.
  • Partner with management on workflow optimization, process improvements, and special projects.
  • Review reports related to aging, denials, cash collections, and work queues; take corrective action as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal stakeholders and, when appropriate, external clients.
  • Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture.
  • Monitor and manage the collections process to ensure timely and accurate resolution of outstanding claims.
  • Enforce workflows for the collection team.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve collection issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain a positive and productive work environment, foster teamwork and collaboration within the collections team.
