Position Summary: ACU has an exciting opportunity for a Collection Manager to join our Collection Department in Ashland Kentucky. This position is responsible for overseeing Collection Department daily workflows. Working with Chief Risk Officer to monitor the effectiveness of procedures.

Requirements

  • 5 years experience working in a financial services environment with at least 2 years in collections preferred
  • Associates degree in college preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem research skills
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor department KPI daily.
  • Assign, monitor, and supervise the Collections Department to ensure efficient flow of work.
  • Manage loss mitigation/financial assistance .
  • Communicate collection procedure requirements to staff and monitor for compliance to procedures to protect the credit unions interests ensuring members are handled courteously.
  • Manage the lifecycle of employees engagement including but not limited to hiring, training collaboration and onboarding, performance management, coaching for success, accountability, recognition, development, mentoring, and work life balance for direct reports.
  • Analyze past due accounts, reviewing payment history and documentation to ensure adequate payment arrangements are made.
  • Responsible for ACU Repossessed Vehicle tracking, including scheduling of sales.
  • Responsible for Bankruptcy Tracking schedule, including filing of proof of claims and follow-up of bankruptcy cases, conferring with the Chief Risk Officer to develop the best course of action.
  • Assist Chief Risk Officer with board package preparation as needed.
  • Report negative share accounts to Chex Systems on a monthly basis.
  • Review accounts for legal proceedings and present to the Chief Risk Officer approval.
  • Keep up to date on rules and regulations to ensure Collections department is following applicable legal requirements.
  • Other duties as requested by the President, EVP, or Chief Risk Officer.
