Reporting to the Associate Collections Manager, the Collections Management Intern will be provided with the opportunity to learn about the long-term preservation, handling, organization, and tracking of works of art on paper. The intern will gain considerable experience with art handling, and familiarity with museum best practices for works on paper storage, and organization. The intern will learn to conduct basic queries, and record artwork information using TMS, LACMA’s collections management system. The internship is at an offsite facility in Los Angeles County (not on LACMA’s main campus). LACMA’s encyclopedic works on paper collection includes artworks from around the world totaling roughly 86,000 items. Virtually all types of works on paper are represented, including photographs, prints, drawings, manuscripts, posters, ephemera, books, and collage. The collections management department is responsible for the preservation, storage, and organization of the art collection, and plays a critical role in providing access to the collection for LACMA staff and visiting scholars. This is a 13-week paid internship, approximately 14 hours per week at $17.87/hour. Anticipated Start Date: May 15, 2026
