About The Position

The Collections Officer plans and carries out procedures to ensure collection of delinquent accounts based on contempt policies and selects necessary approaches to reach the goal of collecting. Accounting notes and defendant status are entered into our Common Pleas Case Management System (CPCMS), and payment plans are established. Interviews are conducted with defendants daily. This staff member assists with the efficient and effective operation of the Clerk of Courts office by assisting other employees and management. The Collections Officer assists the Chief Deputy and Clerk of Court as required/directed. Work includes interaction with employees within the Clerk of Courts Office, Courts, Magisterial District Judges, District Attorney’s Office, Adult Probation and Parole Office, Victim/Witness Office, Sheriff’s Department, Collection Agency, Prison, Department of Corrections, Immigration, and others with regard to the processing, assessing and collecting of the financials of criminal court cases. This is a fast paced position with frequent interruptions and requires a high level accuracy and accountability.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in business/ administration, accounting, collections, or related filed is preferred.
