About The Position

The Central Administration department plays a vital role in United Road’s financial stability. The Collections Associate I will assist the department achieve aggressive collections and credit goals. The Collections Associate I will provide quality customer service to exemplify care and commitment to our professional car haulers, carrier partner base and customers.

Requirements

Strong customer service orientation
Ability to solve problems and think quickly under pressure
Effective oral and written communication skills
Highly organized and detail oriented; ability to follow processes
Demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines
Proficiency in web-based accounting programs
Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
High School Diploma or GED required

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of: credit evaluations, invoice processing, cash application, and collections preferred
Ability to learn various web-based software programs
Credit and collection experience preferred

Responsibilities

Interacts with customers daily by phone and email
Process and verify credit applications
Establish new customer accounts in accounting system
Input data through Excel and proprietary logistic software programs
Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations
