About The Position

Chapman Automotive Group is hiring an Auto Collections / Account Manager. This role is for a professional, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is skilled in customer communication, negotiation, and account resolution. The manager will handle a high volume of inbound and outbound collection calls, support account resolution efforts, and work closely with internal teams to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of collections experience in sub-prime auto finance
  • Working knowledge of FDCPA regulations and applicable state laws
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle difficult or irate customers with professionalism
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)
  • Ability to multi-task, including speaking with customers while documenting notes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with skip-tracing preferred
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Handle a high volume of inbound and outbound collection calls
  • Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining professionalism and compliance
  • Follow established collections call models and techniques
  • Perform skip-tracing to locate customers and update account information
  • Accurately document all account activity and customer interactions
  • Process payments via check-by-phone and ACH
  • Use basic math skills to resolve account balances and payment plans
  • Meet monthly performance goals set by management
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers, including de-escalating difficult situations
  • Support the Collections Manager with daily operational tasks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
