Our Impact: Single Family’s Collateral Risk Team is responsible for developing innovative collateral offerings, risk assessments and policies by collaborating with industry leaders and across the Freddie Mac enterprise. Your Impact: Identifying, monitoring, and managing risks associated with clear title for properties securing Freddie Mac loans Performing research and supporting development of new or revised offerings and related policies aimed to assess title risk Working on policies and projects engaging multiple partners across Freddie Mac and the industry to identify, develop and implement solutions to complex issues pertaining to clear title Staying abreast of changes, opportunities, and emerging risks related to title underwriting Collaborating with external stakeholders including, but not limited to: Mortgage Lenders American Land Title Association (ALTA) Insurer rating companies such as AM Best Company, S&P Global National Association of Insurance Commissioners Venders who provide Title Insurance and Settlement Services to Freddie Mac Sellers Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and typically has 8+ years of experience in title underwriting, curative title work, or real estate law Extensive knowledge of residential real estate transactions, escrow procedures, and closing practices Familiarity with Government Sponsored Enterprises (GSE) title insurance requirements Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite Keys to Success in this Role: Understanding of real estate financing, including conventional, FHA, VA, and private lending Strong legal analysis and problem-solving abilities to assess title risks and determine insurability Stay current on policies and regulations that may affect the title and settlement services industry and be comfortable with transition and change Expertise in ALTA (American Land Title Association) policies, endorsements, and best practices Familiarity with state and federal regulations affecting title insurance (e.g., RESPA, CFPB rules) Ability to effectively and independently manage multiple projects concurrently Excellent verbal and written communication skills capable of succinctly presenting complex subject matter Ability to facilitate group discussions and build relationships inside and outside Freddie Mac Proven experience operating at high standards of quality and accuracy within a fast-paced changing environment Current Freddie Mac employees please apply through the internal career site. This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $137,000 - $205,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
