The role of NCF Maintenance Mechanic is to be responsible for the safest, most efficient, cost effective means of operation and maintenance of our assets. This position includes maintenance, repairs and modifications to all production and material handling equipment at NCF-SC. Including but not limited to draw benches, coil lines, TGP equipment and overhead cranes. Successful candidate must be proficient in welding and fabrication, able to rebuild gearboxes, troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Utilize EAM for work order entry and parts ordering. This position requires that the candidate must be able to operate fork trucks, overhead cranes, and man lifts. This position will require working in confined spaces, heights and be willing to travel for training and further education. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts and weekends as required. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

  • Five years industrial maintenance experience
  • Basic knowledge of machining, welding, and equipment fabrication skills.

  • Cold finish or steel mill experience
  • Excellent safety performance
  • Two year associate’s degree in mechanical or industrial maintenance field
  • Welding certification
  • Industrial Maintenance Experience
