About The Position

Cold-Chain Materials & Inventory Specialist Location: Niles, IL Pay Rate: $21.00/hour ($20.00 base + $1.00 shift differential) Shift: Monday–Thursday | 4:00 PM – 2:30 AM (10.5-hour shifts) Your day in this role Picture this: you clock in, check the production schedule, and map out the materials that must flow to each line before the next run. You verify inbound shipments against documentation, scan items into SAP with an RF device, and stage ingredients and packaging FIFO so they’re right where operations need them. A quick trip into the freezer—down to -20°F —and the sit-down forklift brings back what the team requires. Throughout the shift, you complete cycle counts, keep labels and traceability airtight, communicate any shortages, and perform equipment checks to keep everything moving safely and on time.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 3+ years in food, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing
• 3+ years of forklift experience (Crown preferred)
• Hands-on experience with sit-down, reach, and electric pallet jacks
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills
• Proficiency with SAP and RF scanners
• Forklift trainer certification or manufacturing-related coursework

• Crown experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Receive, label, stage, and store raw materials, packaging, and finished goods
• Verify inbound shipments by physical count and documentation
• Record inventory movements in SAP using RF scanners
• Maintain inventory accuracy via FIFO and timely cycle counts; report discrepancies
• Stage ingredients and packaging to align with production schedules
• Maintain proper labeling and full lot traceability
• Operate sit-down forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks (Crown experience preferred)
• Work in freezer environments to -20°F
• Complete daily equipment inspections and escalate issues promptly
• Follow GMP, food safety, and warehouse safety protocols
• Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and audit-ready
• Communicate shortages, discrepancies, and delays to supervisors
• Assist with training teammates and provide cross-coverage as needed
