About The Position

An exciting opportunity exists for a Coin Cell Laboratory Technician to join the Syrah team based in Vidalia, Louisiana. This role reports to the Company’s Coin Cell & Laboratory Chemist and offers the chance to contribute to a dynamic project start-up environment while gaining exposure to the rapidly growing lithium-ion battery industry. Requirements

  • 1+ year of previous experience in a technical laboratory role, preferably within the Chemical Manufacturing (or related) industry.
  • Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work – e.g., risk management & incident reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and work according to production schedules.
  • Intermediate computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and background check.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble coin cell batteries following standard operating procedures
  • Prepare and handle materials, components, and tools in a controlled environment
  • Operate basic manufacturing and laboratory equipment
  • Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks on finished cells
  • Record production data, test results, and observations accurately
  • Follow safety, cleanliness, and quality guidelines at all times
  • Support Coin Cell and Laboratory Chemist and Laboratory Superintendent as needed
  • Perform equipment calibrations as required
  • Support Powder Properties Laboratory as required
  • Analyzing inbound raw materials and reagents to determine compliance with specifications.
  • Entering measurement data into the relevant databases and assisting where needed with data analysis to support the plant QA/QC systems.
  • Report all hazards, incidents, and near misses in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Continually monitor the laboratory environment to ensure the safety of yourself and other employees.
  • Comply with the Company’s Policies, operating procedures, and Code of Conduct at all times.
  • Assures compliance with corporate Safety, Health & Environmental rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Contribute to site EHS and ESG performance by engaging and working collaboratively at all levels.
